Pirate Galakrond Warrior deck list guide - Ashes of Outland - Hearthstone (April 2020)Galakrond is the Ancharrr of this deck.

Galakrond is the Ancharrr of this deck.

Pirate Galakrond Warrior is a take on the Pirate Warrior archetype which includesGalakrond, the Unbreakable. It plays fairly similarly to the otherPirate Warriorlists we’ve seen in the current meta, but it utilises the Galakrond synergies we’ve enjoyed so much.

The 5/2 weapon gained from a fully Invoked Galakrond acts as another source of damage, and the +4/+4 you obtain through playingGalakrond, the Unbreakableoffers the opportunity for devastating burst damage late on.

You can finish matches when your enemies aren’t expecting it at all, and the Invoke effect giving your Hero +3 attack means you can chip the enemy down and keep dealing bits of damage to put them more in range of your bigKor’kronEliteandArcanite Reaperhits.

In the latest version of our Pirate Galakrond Warrior guide, we’ve got the deck we’re going for at the start of Ashes ofOutland.

General strategy

Pirate Galakrond Warrior plays in more of a mid-range style than the deck without Galakrond. You’re aiming to put pressure on your enemy throughout the beginning of the game but aren’t desperate to immediately destroy them before you run out of fuel. Of course, that’s always a nice surprise, but you’ve sacrificed aggression in favour of flexibility.

Early game:Sky RaiderandTown Crieroffer a solid amount of early tempo, and if you’ve drawn bothSky RaiderandParachute Brigandin your opening hand, you’ll be able to put 2/4 worth of stats on the board on turn 1. Play out as many minions as you can and useRitual Chopper’s Invoke to clear the enemy off, allowing your minions to hit face when necessary. Ideally, you’ve drawnAncharrr, and if you have it’s essential to play it to keep your card draw going. Otherwise, the early game is about establishing board control and keeping your side of the battlefield as far ahead as possible.

Mid game:Start Invoking Galakrond a bit more if possible.Ritual Chopper,Awaken!andDevoted Maniacare solid mid-game plays, and each time you Invoke you receive +3 attack for your Hero. This can be directed into the enemy’s face or take out pesky minions you’re worried about trading with your own.

Frothing Berserkercan spiral out of control in the mid-game if you’re lucky and manage to keep it alive. Damaging lots of minions with your Hero’s attack or the likes ofAwaken!can give this minion a big wedge of attack to hit face for large amounts of damage.Skybargealong with pirates can help here too.

Playing him fully Invoked draws 4 cards and gives them all +4/+4. Ideally, this is enough to close things out, as you’re probably running low on fuel. An 8 attackKor’kron Eliteis an ideal pull from this, as your glut of Pirates and Weapons should have been dealing enough damage to set your enemy on red alert. If you do need that extra kick though, your new Hero Power gives you +3 attack and can then be used to hit the enemy in the face.

Pirate Warrior tips, combos and synergies

Here’s an overview of the synergies to look out for in this Pirate Warrior deck. We’ll keep you updated as the meta develops!

  • Invoke abilities give you +3 attack for your Hero this turn. Don’t forget to swing your face at the enemy before the attack wears off!

-Faceless Corruptorsynergises excellently with your Lackeys, allowing them to transform from 1/1s into 5/4s with Rush.

-Hoard Pillagercan re-equip yourAncharrrorArcanite Reaper, allowing you to reap their benefits multiple times over.

  • If you useUpgrade!orCaptain Greenskin, your weapon gains +1/+1. ForAncharrr, this gives it another card to draw, making it extremely valuable.

-Restless MummyandFaceless Corruptorcan be drawn out withTown Crierearly on if you’re lucky enough to draw it.

  • Try to getSkybargeout as early as possible - it’s hard for an opponent to deal 5 damage to it on turn 3.

  • Remember to equip a weapon before playingBloodsail RaiderandDread Corsair- it’ll power up and discount them respectively.

-Parachute Brigandis essentially a free 2/2 on the board. It’s pulled from your hand for 0 mana as long as you play a Pirate, so look forSky RaiderandSouthsea Deckhandin the early game.
