Here’s how to pilot Galakrond’s Highlander edition in the Rogue class.

We’re enjoying the combined power of Galakrond in Rogue, along with the new Deathrattle synergies and Highlander cards available in Neutral. Even though Rogue doesn’t have a League of Explorers minion likeDinotamer BrannorReno the Relicologist,Dragonqueen AlexstraszaandZephrys the Greatare powerful enough to warrant building a Highlander deck.
You’re looking to overwhelm the board with tempo, forcing your enemy to deal with your early game minions and ideally running out of stuff once you draw your stronger cards..

General strategy
Galakrond, in the Rogue class, has proven itself as a strong option. It’s actually not essential to fully Invoke him - usually just drawing one or two 0 cost cards is enough of a powerful play.
Your goal here is just to play out your decent minions and attempt to get ahead on board. With every Invoke of Galakrond, you’ll receive a random Lackey in hand, and ideally these will get you some level of tempo or value.
Mid Game: At this point, you’ll ideally have aNecrium Apothecarywith a strong Deathrattle, and aNecrium Bladeto trigger it. If you don’t, fear not. Adapt to your opponent’s plays with cards likeHench-Clan BurglarandVendetta, as well asFaceless Corruptorwhich allows you to turn a Lackey orPharaoh Catinto a 4/4 with Rush.
Stay on tempo and keep playing out minions when possible, whilst removing enemies at the same time. You can gain extra Battlecries withShadowstep, so if you wantFlik Skyshivback in your hand, he’ll cost 2 mana less the next time you play him. This minion is super powerful in certain matchups - it’ll destroy all copies of a certain minion wherever they are at the time.
Late Game: Once you’ve InvokedGalakrond, the Nightmarea couple of times, it’s time to play him for that nutty value. If you’re lucky you’ll end up with a 0 manaDragonqueen AlexstraszaorSiamat, but whatever you draw is a bonus.Heistbaron Togwagglecan be a win condition at this point, as hopefully your foe has run out of removal tools and won’t be able to handle Zarog’s Crown, and if you’ve got a hand of buffed minions thanks toAnubisath Warbringer, only the strongest AOE effects can take you out. You can get a Lackey for 2 mana each turn withGalakrond, the Nightmareas well, so keep generating value into the late game and you should be able to find enough stuff to grab a win (especially withKronx Dragonhoofas a big finisher).
Highlander Galakrond Rogue Mulligan Guide
Below is our guide on what to keep in your opening hand when playing Highlander Galakrond Rogue.
1.Necrium Apothecarymay be a 4 mana card, but your chances of victory skyrocket when it’s in your opening hand. The possibility of gaining a super powerful Deathrattle is too good to pass up.
2.Zephrys the Greatis a great option to have early on. Either play him on tempo and gain even more tempo, or save him for whenever you’re desperate for a board clear or a bit of extra damage.
3.Pharaoh Catcan be slammed on the board on turn 1, before offering you another minion with Reborn directly into your hand. Usually, these can be played a couple turns later too, so you’re generating value that’ll be immediately useful to your gameplan.
