How to make a cheap start in Ashes of Outland.

Ashes of Outland is nearly here, and there’s over 130 cards coming in, as well as far more leaving the Standard format. This might mean your collection is larger than it used to be, but you’ll still want to get some strong decks on the ladder.

While these aren’t going to be the very best decks in Ashes of Outland, they’ll get you pretty far if you’re low on Arcane Dust. We’re trying to avoid Legendaries and Epic cards, aside from the ones you can get for free, such as with the five versions of Galakrond given to each player last expansion.

We’ll have another big update for you after launch, but for the moment, here’s our pick of the best budget decks to get you up and running in Ashes of Outland. It’s perfect for the brand new and improvedreturning player experienceHearthstone has brought in!

Budget Ashes of Outland Demon Hunter Deck List

Demon Hunter has a lot of nice decks to get your teeth stuck into. We’ve all sorts ofDemon Hunter guidesif you’re interested, and will be updating with more in the future.

Token Demon Hunter is here to take advantage of the minion-summoning cards available in the new class. Sacrificing them gives you various bonuses and lets you deal extra damage. Combined with your Hero’s attack power, your many small minions can overrun the enemy before they can respond.

This budget Dragon Hunter deck list takes advantage of cheap Dragon minions available from both Hunter and Neutral.Stormhammeris the main pricy option here, it’s a super-strong card and well worth crafting if you can afford it.

Murloc Paladin has a few fun tools in Ashes of Outland, not leastUnderlight Angling Rod, which is a great way to get Murloc value in hand. Of course, there are upgrades you could make to this deck -Murgur MurgurgleandMurloc Warleaderchief amongst them, but for now, this is a great minion-based aggressive/tempo deck that’s fairly cheap. You can even take outUnderlight Angling Rodif you need to - there are plenty of Murloc cards to replace it with.

Galakrond Priest is built aroundGalakrond, the Unspeakable, the free Legendary minion you would’ve earned if you logged in during the Descent of Dragons expansion.

It’s still viable in Ashes of Outland, and has got a fair wedge of new toys to play with, so if you’ve got a Galakrond burning a hole in your colletion, give this one a go!

Stealth Rogue is a fun archetype we’ve not seen in a while. Thankfully, there are a lot of cheap cards that go into this deck, so it’s possible to play a version of it with absolutely no Epic or Legendary cards. Of course, you can always make substitutions, but this version of Stealth Rogue works an absolute treat.

Similarly to Galakrond Priest, this deck has a Legendary in it, but it’s one most of us own thanks to the freebie at the start of Descent of Dragons. Galakrond Zoo Warlock is a nice simple deck to play, and there are plenty of ways to upgrade it when necessary.

Budget Ashes of Outland Warrior Deck List

Warrior is usually a pretty pricy class to play. Thanks to some new additions to Ashes of Outland though, we’re seeing a decent tempo archetype based on having damaged minions around. Of course, this deck could be upgraded with the likes ofGrommash Hellscream, but it does a solid enough job as is.
